About Serenity Counselling
Serenity counselling believes in using a client centered approach to the counselling relationship. I believe that the client and therapist work together in a relationship focused on achieving the clients goals. The approach involves the integration of models and techniques unique to each individual client and their specific needs.
What is Client-Centered Therapy?
Client-centered or person-centered therapy is a non-directive humanistic approach that places the focus of the session on the client. In this approach, the client is the expert of their own life, and the therapist is simply the guide. In this setting, the therapist simply provides direction for the session while the client leads the discussion. This approach can integrate other models as necessary for each client to help their healing process.

MACP RP(Q) OACCPP Brainspotting Practitioner
I have over 5 years experience working in the mental health field.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in which I have worked with a variety of disorders and presenting issues. I believe in using a client-centered approach in my counselling sessions while integrating other models that include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Existentialism, and Mindfulness Interventions that best suit the clients needs.
I specialize in supporting individuals through the counselling process who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, and/or trauma. I have added training in Brainspotting for trauma processing as well as a background in behaviour therapy that allows me to also assist in supporting clients who may be dealing with behavioural issues.
